King Baudouin Foundation;
This impact report illustrates ten years of the King Baudouin Foundation's activities in support of a 'dementia-friendly society', by putting the accent on key messages and a number of projects and initiatives: why they were set up, what was involved, who were the actors concerned and what their impact was.25 experts in Belgium have also been contacted in the framework of this report to discuss what the big challenges are regarding dementia and quality of life. The first part of the book describes the foundation landscape in Belgium. The second part presents the results of a survey replied by 227 philanthropic and public foundations from Belgium about their governance, practices and activities.
This report provides the results of a broad stroke mapping of initiatives supported by various European and American philanthropic bodies. These initiatives aim to leverage the power of strategic communications, and in particular, effective narratives, to counter the closing of civic space and to achieve positive social change. It is intended as a real-time snapshot of ideas and approaches to capture what is being done and where, identify gaps, and share learning on new pathways and solutions for narrative change. The mapping includes some initiatives that fall outside the philanthropic community but which have potential for further exploration and/or adoption.

This report was created by the European Foundation Centre at the request of the CERA Foundation and provides a general introduction to the different types of independent funders active across Europe, to their work and objectives, and to the way they operate. It also includes an introduction to the development and activities of funders active in Belgium and includes a bibliography and statistical data.

The whole PERSE Project is coordinated by Marthe Nyssens (CERISIS, Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium) and is financed by the Europe Commission. This particular paper focuses on social enterprises in Belgium. It describes their context, origin and evolution. The paper includes a substantial bibliography.
